Letting Go | October Monthly Blog

| Anne Ballard
This October, God is giving you the grace you need to let go of patterns that have held you back so that you can freely walk into your divine destiny. It is a time of cleansing and preparation, and God is enabling you to make the changes necessary to move forward. He is revealing keys to what your legacy will be, so press in this month and ask Him what you will be leaving behind for those who come after you. Revival is coming and it will look different than how it has looked in the past, and as you connect with others and do life within family, God’s presence will overtake you. This month, your soul is coming into greater rest as you forgive those who have hurt you and let go. Flexibility is key, so release old mindsets this month and embrace the new things God is doing!

LET GO

God is inviting us into a time of cleansing, purification, preparation, and renewal. Although that may sound painful, God loves you so much that He’s willing to do the work within you to bring you into greater wholeness and freedom.  There is an invitation right now to let go of some things that have crept in under the radar, but that are actually holding you back. These are things that are not serving you, and are creating resistance in your ability to move forward, possibly even causing you to feel stuck. They may be so subtle that you haven’t detected them - things like religious mindsets, judgment, gossip, selfish ambition, or even ideas about how things should be  (“this is how things are going to work out”). It is necessary to let go of these ways of thinking and belief patterns in order to walk into your divine destiny. Flexibility is key! It’s only when we can release how we think things should be that we are able to see and embrace what God may have for us, or even that there could be another option.

SUPERNATURAL GRACE

As He moves, God is extending abundant grace for the transition. Grace is available for the changes that are coming: grace to adjust to the unknown, the unfamiliar, and everything that looks different. What we’ve done in the past will no longer work in the future. As we take steps forward into unfamiliar territory, it is completely normal to want to cling to what is familiar. You’ve never been this way before, so God is giving you new tools to navigate your way forward. In order to adapt, grow, and fully partner with what God is doing, we must change. It is in this changing that God is refining us, making us stronger and more like Him.

“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything - every moment and in every way.  He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.” 2 Corinthians 9.8 (The Passion Translation)

FIGHTING FOR MORE

A Greek proverb tells us, “Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” So often we get so caught up in the busyness of life, and even in good things like pursuing our purpose, that we can lose sight of those who will come after us.  We are all leaving a legacy, even if we don’t realize it - whether it’s for our children, for people younger than we are, or even a legacy in the natural that lasts beyond us. The Bible tells us that “A benevolent man leaves an inheritance that endures to his children’s children” (Proverbs 13.22 The Passion Translation).  We must adopt a multi-generational perspective. This is a good month to ask God what He’s doing in your family line, or to dialogue with Him about what He’s calling you to leave behind. Sometimes we are called to fight a fight that our children (or the next generation) may win. Just because you may not see the fruit of your battle doesn’t mean that you are released from the fighting. What we cultivate in our own lives can be a legacy for our children. Are you called to leave a legacy of healing? Creativity? Abundance? Intimacy? God has a plan for you and your family. Press in; He is revealing keys for you this month.

WAVES OF REVIVAL

Revival is coming in waves, and we are being charged with protecting this next move of God. Rapid changes will require flexibility and freedom in order to thrive during this next season. There is an invitation to move with the new, and not hold on to how things have looked in the past.  This coming revival will look different than other revivals in every way. In past revivals, the family unit has not been celebrated and much has been sacrificed within families for the sake of pursuing the move of God. This revival is different because it is being birthed in family, and that is one of the keys that will make it sustainable. As you connect with others and do life together within family, God’s presence will overtake you.

Religion (as defined by Blake Healy in The Veil) is “trying to achieve through ritual and labor what God wants to give you through relationship.” Religion is the opposite of relationship, and the two truly cannot coexist.  Revival is often messy, and it doesn’t fit neatly into people’s boxes. It doesn’t always look orderly, organized, or tidy, and those expecting God to move in that way  will likely be offended. Religion craves rules above all else, strict order, and rigid alignment, and is a predator of revival. This move of God will be multi-generational and will not be dictated by age.

TRUE REST

Rest, as in mental or spiritual calm or tranquility, comes when our souls are at peace. This month God is highlighting a key that brings true rest. This key is choosing to bless the people that have hurt you. When your heart is wrapped up in unforgiveness, grief, or hurt over a relationship, you are not free, so rest may feel elusive. There are situations in our lives in which we’ve been hurt, but will never get an apology for the wrong done to us. We may never hear the other party own what they’ve done. We must allow God in to those parts of our heart that have been wounded. We can find true and lasting healing when we let God in and receive His love for us. When our hearts are holding onto hurt, or building a case against others about how we’ve been wronged, it makes it really difficult to find true rest. It also makes it impossible to move on. Make a choice today to bless the one who has hurt you so that you can get healing and move forward. You’ve given enough of your precious time and energy. Let them go.

We at The Crowning Jewels believe in the absolute, transformational power of declarations.  We know that truth comes by hearing (Romans 10.17), and speaking truth is an active way for us to renew our minds (Romans 12.2). We also believe that in speaking forth these declarations, you will change your life.  We invite you to partner with what God is doing and say these declarations for the remainder of the month. We would love to hear what God does! Please email us your testimony at tellyourstory@thecrowningjewels.com.

DECLARE TRUTH

  1. Revival is being birthed in my family.
  2. God is giving me grace to embrace change.
  3. I am leaving a legacy.
  4. I am letting go of old negative patterns and embracing what God is doing now.
  5. My soul is at rest as I bless those who have hurt me and move forward.
