What does it really mean to live blessed? This month is an invitation to look again—to recognize what God has already placed within you, protect your focus, use your gifts, and become a blessing right where you are.

As I prayed about September, I sensed the Lord saying it is time. Time for His people to recognize what He has already placed within them—and live differently because of it. We have spent seasons sowing, planting, waiting, praying, and asking God for the harvest. But the harvest has never been ours to produce.
Our responsibility is obedience. I believe there is a fresh urgency right now to stop allowing the noise, fear, frustration, and distractions around us to determine how we live. The Lord kept bringing me back, all the way to Genesis 12:1-3, to one simple calling:
We are blessed to be a blessing.
But being blessed isn't simply something we declare. It should change the way we live.
Blessed Looks Different in the Kingdom
"I will bless you...and you will be a blessing." — Genesis 12:2
Throughout Scripture, blessings have always carried a greater purpose. God blesses His people so they can reflect His heart to the world.
Being blessed doesn't mean pretending everything is wonderful when it isn't. I've had plenty of moments during this past year when my circumstances didn't feel blessed. Walking alongside my mom through cancer while simultaneously watching parts of our home be torn down to the studs has stretched me in ways I never anticipated.
I've complained. I've been frustrated. I've questioned. I've had good days and very hard ones. But perhaps the evidence of a blessed life isn't the absence of difficult circumstances.
It's how we carry ourselves through them.
Our words matter. Our responses matter. The atmosphere we create around us matters. We carry the presence of Jesus into rooms that desperately need His hope, peace, kindness, and truth.
We cannot act like the world and expect to reveal a different Kingdom.
Tear Down What Distracts You
“Let us throw off everything that hinders...and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.” — Hebrews 12:1–2
Walls coming down, flooring ripped out, portions of our home stripped all the way back to the foundation. And spiritually, I sense that God has been doing something similar among His people.
Sometimes restoration requires demolition. Sometimes the Lord has to expose what was underneath. Pull the weeds. Remove what has become a distraction. Bring us back to the foundation. Not because He is destroying us—but because He intends to rebuild something stronger.
Something doesn't have to be sinful to distract us from our assignment.
This is a season to protect our focus. Stop giving our attention to every voice, offense, controversy, crisis, and demand competing for it. If the enemy can so easily distract us, what might we miss that God has prepared for us? Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus and get back to what He actually told us to do.
Stop being distracted. Start discipling.
Use What God Put in You
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10
You don't need a bigger platform to make an impact. Use your voice. Share your testimony. Encourage someone. Invite someone to your table. Develop your gift.
Disciple the person God has already placed in front of you. Love God. Love people.
Make your mark right where you are. There are gifts inside of you that were never intended to remain buried while you wait for a different season.
Plant What Outlives You
“But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop...” — Matthew 13:23
My mom has taught me something about this without ever sitting me down to teach it. Long before this difficult season, she was planting. She planted faith in me. She introduced me to Jesus. She planted generosity, encouragement, resilience, and the importance of showing up for people.
Those seeds became part of who I am. And now I get to plant them again. That's legacy.
Someone planted something in us. We tended it. God multiplied it. And now we plant again. The harvest isn't ours to manufacture. Our responsibility is to plant. Maybe the question this season isn’t simply, “Am I blessed?” Maybe it's time to ask:
Am I simply counting my blessings…or becoming one?
Look again.
You are blessed.
Your gifts are needed.
Your testimony matters.
Your assignment is in front of you.
Be set apart. Be generous. Be BLESSED—and become a blessing.
